Roadshow Props

So this morning the youth got together to work on the props for our wards play in the roadshow. We didn't really build anything we just were painting the backgrounds for the different scenes. We met at the church at 8 a.m. which at first seemed really early but as it got later in the day i startedd to wish we started we had started earlier because it started to get really hot. For the backgrounds we painted sheets to look like the scenes. It started out that we were all motivated but then we started figuring out that it was going to be a lot harder than we thought. The paint didn't spread very well on the sheets which made us use a lot of it. After two and a half hours of painting we finally were almost finshed with painting the four sheets. I think we did a pretty good job and i cant wait to use them for our play in the roadshow.

Ward Party

So last night was our ward halloween party(Trunk or Treat). It was alot of fun. I went early with my friend Kimberly to help set up. Her mom rented a cotton candy machine for the party so kimberly and i got all hyped up on sugar before the party even started. Then some of the young men started showing up to help set tables and booths. It was pretty funny to watch them try and gets the racks of chairs out of the cultural hall. Once the party started it was a lot of fun to play the games and see all of the little kids realy cute costumes. There was a pie eating contest and that was fun to watch but afterwards i felt like i was gonna through up. Everyone thought it was like the nastiest pie ever(some sort of chocolate) it was a pretty close tie between Brother Olsen and Ben Wagner. Which is wierd because at the beginning he said he hated chocolate pie. Once the trunk or treat started Kimberly and i were twins(we had practically worn the same outfit that day so it just worked out that way). After we had gone around once we just kind of hung out with jonathan and anthony. We all got bored pretty quick so we went into the cultural hall and played hide and seek/tag in the dark. That was a ton of fun. We played that for probably 45 minutes and then the bishop came in and we just knew the party was over. Kimberly and i went to go see if there was any cotton candy left and we ended up taking all of the left over bags which we gonna give to some of the guys but they left before we could so we ended up with a bunch of leftover cotton candy. All in all it was a pretty fun party.

Evening in Excellence

Here are Lexie and Haley at their Evening in Excellence. This is a program for the young women in our church. It is called the personal progress program and is similar to the scouting program. It gives the girls opportunities to make goals and learn things that will help them in their lives. For the Evening in Excellence the girls pick one project to work on and then they display what they've done. The projects are to be 10 hours each. Lexie worked on our garden and she also knitted baby hats. Haley sewed faces onto puppets that will go to underprivileged kids in third world countries. They both had a good time working on their projects and they both had to give talks last night. They did a really good job! We were proud of them. They are two really great girls and we are so lucky to be their parents! Way to go girls!

So i guess i should do this since jonathan tagged me so now i have to give 7 random/wierd facts about myself.

1) I am reeeaaalllllyyy blonde. I have blonde hair AND i'm blonde at heart.

2) i am really unorganized in almost everything, especially when it comes to my room.

3)When i grow up i kind of want to be a preschool or kindergarten teacher. Most of the people think i'm crazy but i really like working with little kids and i think i would enjoy it.

4)I love to play with my nieces and nephews. They are so energetic and lovable and they can always make my day.

5)I play the flute and the piano. I've been playing the flute for 3 years and the piano for like 6 years but i'm not very good.

6)When i was 6 i was at a family reunion and i was jumping on the trampoline with two of my cousins. I was the lightest of the three of us so i would got the highest. At one point while i was in mid-air i wondered what would happen if i landed on one leg and so i tried(bad idea) and when i landed i heard a really loud popping noise followed by a really sharp pain in my right leg. Turns out it was broken. I learned my lesson that day. I guess i was just as blonde a then as i am now.

7)When i was in first grade one day i was getting dropped off and there was tree's in front of where the class lines were. I wanted to see if i could walk from were my mom had dropped to where my class would line up. On my way i walked into a tree and hit my head relly hard on the tree and then when i fell down i blacked out for a couple of minutes. The teacher that saw me started freaking out but luckily she didn't call 911 or anything. She was just kind of freaked out and constantly asking me if i was okay. Another lessson learned that day: Don't try to walk to places with your eyes closed.

Our trip to SLC

This weekend we went up to SLC for a mission reunion for Jeff. It was a lot of fun for him to visit with these people he hadn't seen in 27 years.
I had to take pictures of the pictures they had of Jeff when his mission started and when he was on his way home. Love the hair combed to the side. Very nice honey :) We also were able to go to General Conf. We were lucky enough to get seats on the bottom level for the sat. afternoon session. It was a wonderful experience!
We stayed with some friends of ours we haven't seen in about 5 years, The Hagers. They use to be our neighbors when we lived in an apartment. They are our very good friends and it was so fun to see them again. When Lexie was 3 and their 3rd, Jonathon, were the best of friends. He would be the first visitor of the day and ocassionaly he would bring Lexie a carrot. I had to post what they use to look like and how they look today. We LOVE the Hagers and had a great time visiting them!

Picture Day

Ok so today is school picture day. So of course we had to curl hair and get it just right amid the tears that it wasn't going to stay curled..... Kirsten did Tayla and Madyson's hair really cute and Tayla wouldn't let me take a picture... she was being stinky cause I sprayed more hairspray on her bangs, so I finally told her I'd pay her a dollar and so she instantly got ready and smiled. Afterwards she said "grandma where's my dollar..." She's just like her mom.. :)
